Procurement Officer/Buyer

Job Role

The ideal candidate for Buyer/Procurement Officer position will be strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers as well as discovering the best ways for the company along with managing the supply chain effectively.

Key responsibilities:

Daily duties may include the following activities:

  • Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
  • Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
  • Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Preparing and approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
  • Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
  • Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • Managing and tracking shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
  • Preparing procurement reports.

Qualifications

  • Proven working experience as Buyer/Procurement Officer.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
  • Excellent skills in negotiations and networking.
  • Excellent in decision-making and working with numbers.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
  • Knowledge of plant and machinery will be an added advantage.
